First off, White day/Valentines day is awesome. Free obligation chocolate from the ladies, and then I get to freak out trying to remember all the people I need to give chocolate back to a month later, sounds like an AWESOME ordeal. Plus everyone's equally inconvinienced. I can imagine I'd hate the misunderstandings with the different types of chocolate, though.

Secondly, America seems to have rumors about holidays being made up for these sorts of things as well, IE 'Halmark holidays' I think they're called. I can imagine they're a much bigger problem in japan though, since everyone feels 100% obligated to be socially polite and respectful. if one person starts doing it, everyone else has to out of obligation, kind of like how they feel the need for a second valentines holiday for everyone to return the favor.

And lastly? Very simple.

I'd be there for valentines and have to go back to my home country before white day happens. For I am a gigantic jerk and while I wouldn't actually plan that, I'd laugh my butt off the entire way home.
